BTCS Celebrates Digital Learning
In the coming weeks, parents of students in grades 4-11 will get more information about BTCS’ Digital Conversion and what it means for their child’s education!
Friday, March 13, is national Digital Learning Day! Bristol Tennessee City Schools celebrates digital learning every day! This is especially true in our middle and high school classrooms where each student has a school-issued, personal laptop. This is all part of our Digital Conversion, a curriculum and instruction effort which uses the tool of technology to help students learn. And new for the 2015-2016 school year … all students in grades 4-6 will be given a laptop.
Access to technology is one important key to Personalized Learning, a more student-centered approach which provides learning opportunities and tools best suited to each student’s learning style. By increasing access to digital resources, our students can learn anywhere and anytime in a way that’s relevant to them.
Digital Learning Day and Digital Conversion are not about technology, they are about learning. Digital Learning promotes the effective use of modern-day tools, used in every other industry, to improve the learning experience in K-12 public schools. Since 2012, Digital Learning Day has provided a powerful way for education leaders to highlight great teaching practices and showcase awesome teachers, leaders, and instructional technology programs that are improving student learning.
